Hovering between a chamber ensemble, small-group jazz and a classic American harmony group, the dynamic and sense of interplay here are organic and unmistakable. Frisell, who does not sing, has worked with plenty of brilliant vocalists in the past, he points out. But HARMONY is something altogether different.

Bill Frisellin uusimman projektin, neljän huippumuusikon HARMONY:n americanan ja jazzin yhdistelmästä uutta upeaa sävelkieltä luovat kappaleet julkaistiin Blue Note -levymerkillä vuonna 2019. Levyllä Frisellin pitkäaikainen yhteistyökumppani, vokalisti Petra Haden on keskeisessä roolissa. Muut levyn muusikot ovat sellisti-vokalisti Hank Roberts, joka on niin ikään tehnyt Frisellin kanssa pitkään yhteistyötä, sekä uudempana kasvona baritonikitaristi Luke Bergman.
Frisellin pitkä ura kattaa kymmeniä soololevyjä ja satoja levytyksiä muiden muassa John Zornin, Marianne Faithfullin ja Norah Jonesin kanssa. Frisellin musiikissa on kuultu sävyjä folkin, americanan ja countryn, usein myös elokuvamusiikin maailmoista. Grammy-palkitun kitaralegendan oli määrä soittaa Espoossa jo syksyllä 2020, mutta tuolloin koronapandemia muutti suunnitelmat.
