45 vuotta täyttävän Espoo Big Bandin solistiksi saapuva Michael Dease on yksi maailman arvostetuimmista pasunisteista! Moninkertainen Grammy -voittaja ja amerikkalaisen jazz-lehti DownBeatin kriitikoiden vuoden 2021 parhaaksi pasunistiksi valitsema Dease on levyttänyt omalla nimellään 18 albumia ja vieraillut yli 200 muulla levytyksellä.
Yhdysvaltain Georgiassa kasvanut Dease soitti nuoruudessaan myös trumpettia, mutta päätyi 17-vuotiaana valitsemaan pasuunan pääinstrumentikseen. Vuonna 2001 Dease muutti New Yorkiin opiskelemaan Juilliard Schoolin jazz-osaston historian ensimmäiselle vuosikurssille pasunisti Wycliffe Gordonin kutsumana. Dease suoritti Juilliardissa sekä kandidaatin että maisterin tutkinnot, ja jo opintojen aikana loi nopeasti mainetta huikean tekniikan omaavana loistavana solistina, bändin johtajana sekä rivisoittajana. Hän on ollut haluttu yhteistyökumppani laajasti yli genrerajojen artisteille kuten Alicia Keys, Paul Simon, Paul Schaffer and the CBS Orchestra, Elton John, Neal Diamond, Illinois Jacquet, Slide Hampton & The World of Trombones, Fred Wesley, Maceo Parker, WDR Big Band, George Gruntz ja Billy Harper.
Dease on myös pitkään opettanut arvostetuissa musiikkioppilaitoksissa ympäri Yhdysvaltoja. Monet Deasen nykyisistä ja entisistä oppilaista tekevät menestyksekästä uraa musiikin saralla.
