The music of Ida Alanen Trio draws inspiration from visual forms and the borderline state between sleep and wakefulness, bringing images from the subconscious into the light of day. The cohesive sound of the trio is the result of three years of close collaboration, and the band effortlessly plays with carefully orchestrated compositions and free improvisation.
Ida Alanen, the leader of the band, is currently studying in the master's program at the Amsterdam Conservatory under the guidance of Harmen Fraanje. Originally formed in Helsinki, the trio now performs both domestically and internationally. The debut album of the trio, Awake Asleep, was released in the fall of 2023 in collaboration with the Norwegian record label AMP Music & Records....

Ida Alanen Trion musiikki ammentaa inspiraationsa visuaalisista muodoista sekä unen ja valveillaolon rajatilasta, tuoden alitajunnan kuvia päivänvaloon. Trion yhteen hioutunut soundi on kolmen vuoden tiiviin yhteistyön tulos, ja yhtye leikittelee vaivattomasti huolellisesti orkestroitujen sävellysten ja vapaan improvisaation välillä.
Yhtyeen leaderina toimiva Ida Alanen opiskelee parhaillaan Amsterdamin konservatorion maisteriohjelmassa Harmen Fraanjen johdolla. Alun perin Helsingissä perustettu trio keikkailee nykyään sekä kotimaassa että kansainvälisesti. Trion esikoislevy Awake Asleep julkaistiin syksyllä 2023 norjalaisen levy-yhtiön AMP Music & Recordsin kanssa.
