tomi nikku triiio is a fresh ensemble on the Finnish music scene. In addition to trumpet player Tomi Nikku, the trio features the talented Joonases: Tuuri (bass) and Leppänen (drums). triiio's repertoire consists of Nikku's compositions and arrangements, drawing influences and inspiration from various styles of the Black American Music tradition, early 20th-century visual art, science fiction literature, and the senseless societal spirit of the 2020s. Although the trio is a relatively new formation, its members have played together on numerous occasions in different ensembles (Alder Ego, Bowman Trio, New 4...). With many shared musical (and actual) miles behind them, this collective experience is evident in the triiio's performances – the music breathes, evolves, and develops through the interaction between these cats....

Free concerts are held at Musiikkitalo's terrace on summer afternoons from Thursday to Saturday, from 29 May until 2 August, starting at 5 pm. The concerts feature talented musicians from the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki, as well as other Finnish artists. Throughout the summer, the stage will host a diverse range of interesting artists from different genres: mainly pop music on Thursdays, jazz on Fridays. Additionally, the programme includes interesting performances from the fields of contemporary folk and classical music. The early summer Thursday afternoons are dedicated to the Radio Helsinki KESÄLIVE.
In case of rain, the concert will be held inside in the Musiikkitalo Restaurant.

tomi nikku triiio on tuore kokoonpano maamme musiikkikentällä. Trumpetisti Tomi Nikun lisäksi yhtyeen täydentää upeat Joonakset, Tuuri (basso) ja Leppänen (rummut). triiion ohjelmisto koostuu Nikun sävellyksistä ja sovituksista, joihin hän on ammentanut vaikutteita ja inspiraatiota mustan amerikkalaisen musiikin perinteen eri tyyleistä, 1900-luvun alun kuvataiteesta, scifi-kirjallisuudesta sekä 2020-luvun päättömästä yhteiskunnallisesta hengestä. Vaikka triiio on yhtyeenä tuore, sen jäsenet ovat soittaneet yhdessä lukuisia keikkoja eri kokoonpanoissa. Yhteisiä kilometrejä on kuljettu, ja se kuuluu yhtyeen esityksissä – musiikki elää, hengittää ja kehittyy vuorovaikutuksessa soittajien välillä.
Musiikkitalon terassilla kuullaan ilmaiskonsertteja kesäiltapäivisin torstaista lauantaihin 29.5.–2.8. klo 17 alkaen. Kesäterassilla esiintyy Taideyliopiston Sibelius-Akatemiasta ponnistaneita lahjakkaita muusikoita sekä muita kotimaisia artisteja. Kesän mittaan lavalla nähdään monipuolinen kattaus konsertteja eri genreistä: pääsääntöisesti torstaisin on luvassa poppia ja perjantaisin kuullaan jazzia. Lisäksi ohjelmassa on mielenkiintoisia esiintyjiä nykykansanmusiikin ja klassisen musiikin kentiltä. Alkukesän torstai-iltapäivien ohjelmassa on Radio Helsingin KESÄLIVE.
Sateen sattuessa konsertti järjestetään Musiikkitalon Ravintolassa.
