Suzanne is a voice that hums and whispers timeless memories. The common sound of the instruments, but also rhythmically screaming, even brutally tearing. It is like a child who meets the melodies he hears, an old man who passes on his memories, and these musicians play and sing all this that is given to them to hear.
The band’s name was inspired by Leonard Cohen’s legendary song. In its magic circle, a melodic approach meets traditional rhythms. Awareness of one’s own sound develops as a result of working on interpretation and chamber music composition work. The sound that alternately appears, alternately fades into inaudibility, always transports the trio to new, different soundscapes. “Travel Blind”, their first record was released after a French and European tour in October 2023 on the Gigantonium label....

Suzanne on kollektiivinen ääni, joka kokoaa alttoviulisti Maëlle Desbrossesin, bassoklarinetisti Hélène Duret’n ja kitaristi Pierre Tereygeolin yhteen uuden vuosisadan folk-laulujen äärelle.
Suzanne on ääni, joka hyräilee ja kuiskailee iättömiä muistoja. Soittimilla on yhteinen ääni, mutta myös rytmikkäästi huutava, jopa raa’an repivä. Se on kuin lapsi, joka tapailee kuulemiaan melodioita, vanhus joka välittää muistojaan, ja nämä muusikot soittavat ja laulavat kaikkea tätä mitä heille annetaan kuultavaksi.
Yhtyeen nimi on saanut inspiraationsa Leonard Cohenin myyttisestä kappaleesta. Sen taikapiirissä melodinen lähestymistapa kohtaa traditionaaliset rytmit. Tietoisuus omasta soundista kehittyy tulkinnan työstämisen ja kamarimusiikillisen sävellystyön kantamana. Ääni joka vuoroin ilmestyy, vuoroin häviää kuulumattomiin kuljettaa trioa aina uusiin, erilaisiin äänimaisemiin. ”Travel Blind”, heidän ensimmäinen levynsä julkaistiin Ranskan ja Euroopan kiertueen jälkeen lokakuussa 2023 Gigantonium levymerkillä.
