Yes or no is a brand new group assembled specifically for this evening. The group concentrates solely on the music of Wayne Shorter, one of the most influential saxophonists & composers & thinkers of our time.
Wayne transitioned this realm on march 2nd 2023. His music has a very mysterious element to it, his compositions have a very distinctive character. His playing was always surprising and refreshing and surprising. It is important to keep his music and lineage alive.
The band´s drummer and assembler Joonas Leppänen, heard Wayne´s music as a teenager, and it has stayed with him ever since. After Waynes passing, it felt natural to gather a band of top notch finnish jazz musicians paying tribute to the grand master....

Yes or no on uunituore yhtye joka on kasattu erityisesti tätä iltaa varten. Yhtye keskittyy ohjelmistossaan ekslusiivisesti Wayne Shorterin musiikkiin, yksi aikamme tärkeimmistä saksofonisteista / säveltäjistä / ajattelijoista.
Wayne siirtyi ajasta ikuisuuteen 2. maaliskuuta 2023. Hänen musiikissaan on salaperäisiä klangi, ja sävellyksissä on hyvin tunnistettava oma puumerkkinsä. Hänen soittonsa oli aina raikasta ja yllättävää. On tärkeää pitää Waynen perintö elossa.
Yhtyeen rumpali Joonas Leppänen kuuli Wayne Shorterin musiikkia teini-ikäisenä, ja hänen musiikkinsa on säilynyt tärkeänä nykypäivään asti. Waynen poismenon seurauksena tuntui luontevalta koota yhtye esittämään tribuuttinsa suurmestarille.
