The release was accompanied by two launch concerts in the sax man’s home town, Helsinki, both of which sold out in advance. Melodic, swinging and energetic, the album is a distillation of the core ingredients of Lassy’s music. But with such names as Georgios Kontrafouris (wurlitzer), Antti Lötjönen (bass), Teppo Mäkynen (drums) and Abdissa Assefa (percussion) it is hardly a surprise that this tight-knit ensemble is best enjoyed live.

Suomen johtaviin jazz-artisteihin lukeutuva Timo Lassy julkaisi uuden Love Bullet -albuminsa toukokuun lopulla. Timo Lassy Band juhlisti uutta albumia soittamalla kaksi ennakkoon loppuunmyytyä keikkaa Helsingissä. Nyt yhtye tekee toivotun seuraavan esiintymisensä kotikaupungissaan, tällä kertaa tunnelmallisessa Aleksanterin teatterissa keskiviikkona 7. lokakuuta.
Uuden Love Bullet -levyn myötä kovassa nosteessa oleva Timo Lassy on eräs tämän hetken kansainvälisesti arvostetuimmista suomalaisista jazznimistä. Lassyn levyn julkaisi saksalainen Membran/MustHaveJazz ja varsinkin Saksassa, Ranskassa ja Isossa-Britanniassa on herätty Lassyn ja kumppaneiden verevän soul jazzin kutsuun.
Melodinen, svengaava ja energinen Love Bullet summaa Lassyn musiikin ytimen osuvasti ja keikkalavalla taitava yhtye pääsee oikeuksiinsa.
