Jazz Houston, is tuning up for a season closer with a concert featuring Grammy Award winning jazz artist and acclaimed actor performing with the Jazz Houston Orchestra.

On Friday, June 14th, Jazz Houston presents Grammy Award Winning Vocalist, Composer, Actor, and Activist, Ruben Blades in Dance Mania! A Salsa Celebration and Fundraiser at Revention Music Hall. Located at 520 Texas Ave, Houston, TX 77002.

The show promises to deliver hot, exciting sounds that will put audiences in the mood to dance. Proceeds will support Jazz Houston’s education programs which are presented throughout the year. Last spring, Jazz Houston’s education programs included presenting more than 30 after-school Jazz education seminars held in Houston. The Young People’s Concert entitled “Who is Ella Fitzgerald?” presented at Westbury High School, and the “What Is Swinging” interactive concert held for students and seniors at the Houston Public Library Plaza Downtown. New education programs include an expanded city-wide Jazz Education series with the Houston Public Library, and the launching of the Jazz Houston Youth Orchestra, a tuition-free honors jazz orchestra that meets weekly during the academic year and culminates with a musical exchange with the Jazz At Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra in New York City.
