Raquel Cepeda is a highly regarded singer who has shared the stage with Jazz legends such as Ellis Marsalis and Delfeayo Marsalis. A former Geologist for the oil industry and originally from Venezuela, Cepeda has released two albums as a soloist. Cepeda latest album "Passion" was nominated for “Best Jazz Album” at the 2020 Pepsi Music Awards and remained in the #1 position of the Roots Music Report Jazz chart for 8 consecutive weeks.
She has performed at important stages like the Miller Outdoor Theater, the MATCH Theater and the Heights Theater in Houston; the Aula Magna and the BOD Cultural Center in Caracas, the Casa Julieta Da Serpa in Rio de Janeiro, and the Espaço Cultural Alberico Rodrigues in São Paulo.
Cepeda has been a featured artist by such cultural organizations as Houston Da Camera, Friends of Chamber Music of Bryan / College Station and the Harris County Cultural Arts Center, and has been featured in Houston festivals such as the Holiday Latin Jazz Fest, the Brazilian Food and Music Festival. Cepeda has also been a special guest to the Kingwood Pops Orchestra.
