The phenomenally gifted young pianist, JÁNOS EGRI Jr. already possessor of the Junior Prima Award, debuted with his new outfit at the 2023 MÜPA Jazz Showcase which is Hungary’s most prestigious talent seeking contest in the genre. The trio walked away with three special awards and another one for the leader himself that gave him a gig with topline British musicians at London’s legendary 606 Club. Though the trio’s style is centered around mainstream jazz, it also utilizes numerous individual stylistic elements inspired by classical music and the more sophisticated trends of pop.
The trio’s other two players are the virtuoso grand master of bass, JÁNOS EGRI, János Jr.’s dad, and one of the most in-demand drummers in the country, ANDRÁS PECEK LAKATOS.
