Dave Styker is a jazz guitarist extraordinaire. He has been a featured sideman with Stanley Turrentine, Jack McDuff, and many others. The Village Voice calls him “one of the most distinctive guitarists to come along in recent years.” He was recently voted once again into the 2016 Downbeat Readers and Critics Polls. Jazz vocalist Rachel Caswell is known for her improvisational prowess, her pinpoint accuracy of pitch and rhythm, and her depth of delivery and interpretation of popular song (so, I copied it off her site but I couldn't have said it any better.) Her 2015 release "All I Know: Duets with Dave Stryker & Jeremy Allen" will probably be part of the evening's selections. She was here at the Jazz Guest Artist Series, produced by the Evansville Jazz Society and UE Music Dept. several years ago with her sister, jazz violinist Sara Caswell, and it was an afternoon to remember.
