New Jersey indie rock duo the Front Bottoms emerged in the late 2000s with a wildly eclectic blend of pop, rock, and punk influences accompanied by witty lyrics that offer a rapid-fire, slightly surreal perspective on the world around them. Brian Sella (guitarist/vocals) and Mathew Uychich (drums) have been friends since they were ten years old and started writing songs together in sixth grade. The Front Bottoms’ early releases relied on lean, angular melodies, wiry guitar work, and propulsive drumming.
