A meeting of generations where young musicians of the future share the stage with seasoned professional jazz players.

Sligo Academy of Music Jazz Orchestra, who recently returned from their silver-medal-winning performances at the Young Bohemia festival in Prague, Czech Republic, have gone from strength to strength under the tutelage of Stan Burns and Con Schmaucks. This young, vibrant Big Band with members aged from 11 to 18, will perform a set at the Hawks Well on this special night, along with a set by several of the tutors of Sligo Jazz Project's stellar 2016 faculty, lead by Sligo's own Michael Nielsen. Special surprise guests are likely, plus the opportunity for these fine young musicians to perform together with the best, as we have lined up a great finale featuring all performers together, to complete a very memorable night for all concerned.
