Later on, he improved his music knowledge listening to names like Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, Albert Collins, Freddie King and James Brown. At 14, he learnt playing classical guitar on his own. In Rock’n Purple, he received “the best soloist”, “the best rock band” and “the best instrumental perfomance” awards, the lattest given for a kemenche arrangement he made for the Beatles song “Don’t Let Me Down”. Evrencan Gündüz, who has won critical acclaim with his full house, acoustic solo gigs since a year, will now be on stage for you, at Akbank Jazz Festival with his quintet.
