Alper Yılmaz; The multilayered compositions of composer, arranger and double bass player Alper Yılmaz reflect the conflicts and tensions emanating from his musical and mental journeys to lands as distant as the USA and Turkey. Alper Yılmaz whose album “Over the clouds” has just been released went to New York in 2000, took part in workshops of Matthew Garrison where he studied jazz theory, took private lessons from Adam Rogers and David Binney, studied improvisation with Antonio Hart, composition and arrangement with Michael Mossman and in the pricess turned into a most promising jazz musician. Tonight’s repertoire is his album piecess, and some jazz arrangement.
