Burak Bedikyan who was born in Istanbul developed an interest in music at a very early age with the encouragement of his family and decided to pursue a professional carreer in music during his highschool studies. He took his first step in this direction by participating in the Aydın Esen workshop in 1996 and then started his studies at the Marmara University Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. He continued his musical education throughout his university studies and in 2002 gained a scholarship at Bilgi University Department of Music where he had the opportunity to study with Can Kozlu, İmer Demirer, Tuna Ötenel and many other prominent musicians. Presently he plays in bands which he leads as well as others’, in styles as varied as classic jazz to fusion. He released his debut album “Circle of Life” in 2013 with Chris Potter, bassist Peter Washington, and drummer Bill Stewart....
