Boğaziçi Üniversitesi’nde felsefe ve Berklee College of Music’te caz kompozisyon eğitimi aldıktan sonra İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi’nde klasik Batı ve Türk müziğinde kompozisyon ve teori konularında yüksek lisans çalışmalarını tamamlamış olan Güç Başar Gülle, besteci, icracı ve eğitmen olarak çalışmalarını sürdürmektedir.

Güç Başar Gülle’s first album ‘İlk Renk’ was taking the classical Ottoman-Turkish music and taking them to today, trying to find its place in today. His second album ‘BenSiz’ is an effort to explore guitar music with Volkan Hürsever (double bass). The project is heavily influenced by classical music, jazz, latin and flamenco and all tunes are Gülle’s originals.
He studied Philosophy at Boğaziçi University, jazz composition at the Berklee College of Music and did masters at the İstanbul Technical University on ‘Composition and Theory in classical Western and Turkish music’. He still performs, writes and tutors.

Güç Başar Gülle born in 1977 in Turkey. He began to study guitar with Safa Yeprem while a student at Boğaziçi University from which he received a B.A in Philosophy in 2001. In 2004, he received a M.A from the Turkish Music Conservatory at Istanbul Technical University.
In Master Programme he studied Ottoman-Turkish music forms and Ud with Mutlu Torun, Ottoman-Turkish music repertoire with Nevzat Atlığ, Theory with Nail Yavuzoğlu.
Completed four year Jazz Composition Diploma in two years at Berklee College Of Music. At Berklee he studied Jazz Guitar with Bruce Bartlett, Jazz Composition with Ken Pullig, Dick Lowell, and Greg Hopkins, Jazz Arranging Techniques with Jackson Shultz and Scott Free. He gave a guitar recital in Harvard University. He gave a number of concerts both
as a soloist and as a member of various groups as a guitarist and an ud player in U.C.L.A, George Washington University, M.I.T, and Rice University and a workshop at Berklee College of Music about Ottoman-Turkish Music. He performed with important Jazz artists, (Leo Blanco, Bruno Raberg, David Fiuczynski and Tiger Okoshi.)
Between 2006-2008 he studied Contemporary Composition and Theory with Michael Ellison and Reuben de Lautour at Istanbul Tecnical University in Advanced Music Studies. His compositions for two guitars were performed in University of Memphis by DUOIST. In a premiere of a work by Michael Ellison for Symphony Orchestra, Turkish Ensemble and solo
cello, performed by BBC Symphony Orchestra and Ali Tüfekçi Ensemble in London, he worked as a conductor assistant for Pascal Rophe and gave a workshop about OttomanTurkish rhythms to the members of BBC Symphony Orchestra in London. Music of Von Mülleseln und Seifenfrauen-Geschichten aus, a documentary about Mardin directed by Dirk Michael Schaefer for ARTE (french- german tv channel) in 2010 March, was composed by Güç Başar Gülle. He is working actively as a composer, a performer (oud, guitar) and an educator.
Volkan Hürsever graduated from the Bass department of Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory. He received his first jazz theory instruction from Neşet Ruacan. Volkan Hürsever joined Ricky Ford´s-composer and saxophone player- Jazz Collective Project. After taking the stage as part of Roy Haynes project entitled Birds of a Feather; he joined the band´s European tour.
He taught bass at the Music Performance Department of Bilgi University. He played together with Turkish jazz musicians as well as renowned musicians among which are Alan Harris, Laverne Buttler, Marion Cowings, Billy James, Harvey Thompson, and Clifford Jarvis. His first album Hediye (Gift) with Burçin Büke and Volkan Öktem was recorded in 2009 and is released by A.K. Müzik.
