Alex Mariano Quartet”” is a newly formed band born from the meeting between Alessandro Mariano, a classical pianist, who has been cultivating a great passion for jazz and three Roman musicians from different artistic and musical backgrounds but who share the same interpretive sensibility for a repertoire that unites the traditional (Thelonius Monk, Wes Montgomery, Wayne Shorter, Michael Brecker, Freddy Hubbard ..) with more recent songs (Christian McBride, Brandford Marsalis, Sam Rivers …) but all rearranged with a personal sound and a particular energy that enhance interplay and rhythmic inventions. There are also original pieces by Alessandro Mariano. The main theme of the band is the blues in all its variations and facets, with unexpected episodes on latin and funky....
