Everything is now ready for the 15th edition of the International Massimo Urbani Award (www.premiomassimourbani.com) scheduled from June 23rd to 25th 2011 in the towns of Camerino and Macerata, in the region of the Marches in central Italy. This is a great international jazz event, also featuring many talented Italian musicians. The jazz trumpeter and composer Enrico Rava will be opening the festival on the night of June 23rd, in the double role of special guest and President of the Jury that will choose the winners on the 24th of June, in Camerino. On June 25th the Prize-winners will perform in a great concert in Macerata’s central square of Piazza Cesare Battisti. The Massimo Urbani Award is a prestigious international competition for jazz soloists. It was established in memory of the great jazz musician who established some of the most interesting initiatives for young musicians from around the world, contributing to the development of their careers and the diffusion of contemporary jazz. Thus we are following in his footsteps on a musical journey from Italy to the world and back, looking for talented soloists all over the world with the aim of internationally promoting the best of them.
