Endless quotations hidden in the text: from De Gregori (“History is us: what a mess”) to De André (“Faber says where the majority is, I where the majority is”), to Zeman, Cyrano de Bergerac, Maccio Capatonda, Patti Smith, Nanni Moretti (“Dear diary, there is a novelty: at ease and always agreed with the minority”), Zucchero Fornaciari (“Hey brother, we are in the shit”), Francesco Nuti (” Madonna, what a silence there is tonight “), up to Mago Merlino de” The sword in the rock “and his mythical holiday phrase” Honolulu arrival “interpreted for the occasion by the unmistakable voice of Massimo Boldi, (protagonist also in the video) as special guest in the song is Stefano Di Battista, with his proverbial jazz soprano sax. Phil Mer and Daniel Bestonzo mixed, for the arrangement of Misanthropy Village, analogical and digital instruments, electronics and instruments played, pop and jazz, in a perfect balance that makes the song particularly festive without being frivolous. The solo phrases of the sax by Stefano Di Battista and the manouche guitar by Egidio Marchitelli (historical collaborator and fixed member in the live band of Piji) interact with the sung text and with the many rhythmic games that make this piece a piece of summer and the anti-piece of the summer at the same time.
