The project “”The Cannonball’s – A Sax Mob”” was born from the passion of the Italian “”endorser”” saxophonists of the prestigious American Brand Cannonball Saxophones for Smooth Jazz and Soul. It is an unprecedented encounter, and exclusively for the Elegance Cafè in Rome, between these “”friends”” who love Jazz and Funk.
Gianni Vancini is one of the Italian stars of the saxophone and is considered by many to be “”The Ambassador of Contemporary Jazz””. With his albums he has been several times in the top places in the USA and for several weeks in the top places in Canada, Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland Top Jazz charts. In the pop world, he has been Umberto Tozzi’s side man since 2002. Over the years he has shared the stage with the major exponents of International Smooth Jazz: Eric Marienthal, Dave Koz (he was the only Italian to perform in the DK cruise 2013) , Gerald Albright, Brian Simpson, Jeff Lorber, Richard Elliot, Mindi Abair, Selina Albright, Julian Vaughn, Eric Darius, Kim Waters, Marc Antoine, Elan Trotman, Greg Manning just to name a few....

Costantino Ladisa has been the sax of the band ADIKA PONGO for 25 years and has founded two formations of the panorama of Italian Smooth Jazz ((Da Nu Jazz 4et and Groovin ‘High). He has performed with artists such as Lionel Richie, Norma Jean Wright-Luci Martin- Alfa Anderson from CHIC, Eric Marienthal, Tom Kennedy, Paul Jackson, Fred Wesley, Vanessa Haynes from Incognito, David Garfield, Xantonè Blaq, Mike Francis, Niccolò Fabi and many others
Donato Sensini is a young saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist with a diploma in saxophone and orchestration. He has collaborated on TV with large orchestras playing with James Taylor, Boy George, Tiziano Ferro, Lucio Dalla, Pino Daniele and many others and for 8 years he has been the sax of the Massimo Ranieri band. He is completing his first CD which will see, among others, the participation of important artists such as drummer Chris Coleman, bassist Alex Al and pianist Herman Jackson.
The repertoire of this unpublished trio of saxophones ranges from Soul / Funk reinterpretations of songs by Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Grover Washington Jr., David Sanborn, Marcus Miller to versions of classics of Soul music (Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and many others) up to original songs of their composition.
They will be accompanied by extraordinary musicians: Antonio Iammarino on piano and keyboards, Andy Bartolucci on drums and Matteo Carlini on bass.”
