A tribute to João Gilberto, father of bossa nova, and inventor of the batida, that original guitar touch of the right hand that blends the percussive sound of the “surdo” with that of the cavaquinho (small guitar), instruments both typical of Brazilian popular music.
To honor the Grand Master the Raquel Silva Joly duo will perform a selection of pieces that tell the mystical side but also the imaginative and jolly side of this late twentieth-century genius.
