21 Sax Salute at Spotlight: Charlie Parker at Lincoln Cemetery

The musical salute, originally created by KC Jazz Legends Eddie Baker and Ahmad Alaadeen, will feature a host of KC's finest musicians including the UMKC Conservatory of Jazz and Dirty Force Band. Mike Corrigan, the BAC Horn Doctor, will play Amazing Grace with bagpipes. The stunning salute occurs at the site of Parker’s grave at Lincoln Cemetery in east Kansas City (Truman Road and Blue Ridge Blvd.). The event includes a special reception (1:00 pm), the “chicken feed,” hosted by the Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center.
