Doug Perkins' "metheny Celebration" Debut Concert And Video Recording at Westport Coffee House

When I (Doug Perkins) moved to Kansas City from LA in 2015, I was excited to go to the town that Pat Metheny came from, but also surprised that many of the non-musicians had never heard of what I am sure is the most artistically and commercially successful jazz musician that has ever lived.

Since I can play from some similar musical sensibilities as Pat, I decided to have a band to play his music, and I took the name "Metheny Celebration" from modifying one of his song names "Omaha Celebration. I am very happy to have some of the best players on their instruments in KC: Jake Herzog on keyboards, Sam Copeland on bass, and Jim Lower on drums.
