Kaija Saariaho, who passed away in 2023, was one of the most influential composers of modern times. Her work, highly admired and impactful, has shaped the artistry of many respected musicians today. Among the successful contemporary composers emerging from Finland, this concert will delve into Saariaho's music and other composers from her homeland, exploring what gives their music its uniquely Finnish character.
