The Young Mothers is the new sextet that Norwegian bassist Ingebrigt HĆ„ker Flaten created in
Austin, where he now lives, with four musicians from Texas and one from Chicago. Itās described by
critic Clifford Allen as āa brilliant band that merges modern jazz, free improvisation, indie rock,
hip hop and a caterwauling Afro-groove reminiscent of the Brotherhood of Breathā.
