FYI: Though not an Arkansan himself, in 2009 Frisell released his "Disfarmer" album of music composed and performed by him for the documentary "Disfarmer: A Portrait of America" (about Depression-Era photographer Mike Disfarmer of Heber Springs), which opened the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival in 2010 and was then screened by the Little Rock Film Festival in 2011. In 2005, Frisell's "Unspeakable" received the Grammy award for "Best Contemporary Jazz Album." In 2009, his "History, Mystery" received a Grammy nomination for "Best Instrumental Jazz Album." Frisell has repeatedly been named "Guitarist of the Year" by the Jazz Journalists Association (2008. 2009, 2012, 2013, 2014) and Downbeat Magazine's Critics Poll (1996, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2005, 2006, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014).
