The Arkansas Jazz Heritage Foundation/Arkansas Jazz Hall of Fame holds its weekly meet-and-greet during Monday Jazz at The Afterthought, the only Little Rock venue which has presented live jazz continuously (at least once a week) since the 1970s. That distinction earned the iconic club a place on the map in the first print edition of the Encyclopedia of Arkansas Music, published in September 2013 by the Central Arkansas Library System's Butler Center for Arkansas Studies/Arkansas Encyclopedia of History and Culture. Located in the historic Hillcrest neighborhood and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the club and its adjoining restaurant occupy a building used as the town hall for Pulaski Heights before its 1916 annexation by Little Rock.
