The club's longstanding commitment to live jazz earned The Afterthought a citation in the first edition (September 2013) of the Encyclopedia of Arkansas Music, published by the Central Arkansas Library System's Butler Center for Arkansas Studies/Encyclopedia of Arkansas History and Culture. The Arkansas Jazz Heritage Foundation/Arkansas Jazz Hall of Fame holds its weekly meet-and-greet during Monday Jazz (8-11 pm) at The Afterthought.
