About

Debuted during the summer of 2013, a slightly revamped "Jazz in the Park" (presented from 6 pm until 8 pm each Wednesday in April and September) returned in 2014. The series' closing concert on 24 September 2014 will feature the accomplished Brandon Dorris Quintet: Brandon Dorris (sax), Guido Ritchie (trumpet), Tom Cox (keys), Bill Huntington (upright bass), Jay Payette (drums).

Sponsored by the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau and the River Market District, with assistance from the Arkansas Sounds project within the Central Arkansas Library System's Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, these outdoor concerts are free and family-friendly. Limited seating is available in the natural-stone amphitheatre at Riverfront Park's History Pavilion (accessed from Ottenheimer Drive, north off President Clinton Avenue); in case of rain, concerts are moved to the covered, open-air West Pavilion (farmers' market area on the north side of Ottenheimer Market Hall at 400 President Clinton Avenue). Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome, but no coolers are allowed. Beer, wine, soft drinks, and water will be sold, with some proceeds benefitting Sculpture at the River Market. More info (including maps) is provided at www.littlerock.com and www.rivermarket.info (501.375.2552). ...
