Monday Jazz: YTOG at Monday Jazz at Afterthought Bistro and Bar

On 7 October 2013, featured performers are YTOG (Young Turks, Old Guard), a jazz combo comprised of some of Arkansas's most respected musicians: Matt Dickson (sax), Walter Henderson (trumpet, flugelhorn), Chris Parker (piano), Chris Michaels (bass), Ted Seibs (drums). Other accomplished jazz musicians will be invited to sit in.

The Afterthought (located in the historic Hillcrest neighborhood) is the only Little Rock venue which has presented live jazz continuously (at least once a week) since the 1970s. The club's longstanding commitment to jazz earned The Afterthought a citation in the first edition (September 2013) of the Encyclopedia of Arkansas Music, published by the Central Arkansas Library System's Butler Center for Arkansas Studies/Encyclopedia of Arkansas History and Culture. The Arkansas Jazz Heritage Foundation/Arkansas Jazz Hall of Fame holds its weekly meet-and-greet during Monday Jazz (8-11 pm) at The Afterthought.
