The History Pavilion (accessed by going north on Ottenheimer Drive off President Clinton Avenue) is located west of the Junction Bridge (for pedestrians/bicycles) and east of Peabody Park within Julius Breckling Riverfront Park, which covers 33 acres and stretches 11 blocks (parallel to LaHarpe Boulevard/President Clinton Avenue) along the south bank of the Arkansas River in downtown Little Rock's River Market District. The History Pavilion (where free, family-friendly “Jazz in the Park” concerts are presented from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesdays in April and September by the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau and the River Market District) can be rented from the Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department. The space includes limited seating within a natural-stone amphitheatre; lawn chairs and blankets are usually allowed though coolers are not permitted. (Beer, wine, soft drinks, and water may be sold at some events, with proceeds usually benefitting Art Porter Music Education, Sculpture in the River Market, or another non-profit organization.) SPECIAL NOTE: In case of inclement weather, events scheduled for the History Pavilion are usually moved to the covered West Pavilion immediately behind (north of) Ottenheimer Hall (400 President Clinton Avenue in the River Market District).
