About

A true pioneer in the realms of electronic music and performance art, Laurie Anderson has been using technology to transform the way we tell stories since the 1970s and continues to be one of the most daring creative voices around today.
In 2012 Hurricane Sandy, the biggest Atlantic hurricane on record, flooded her basement, ‘the seawater had shredded and pulped everything’. She lost her collected work but realised that in this confrontation with the overwhelming power of the natural world, the stories survived.
In this solo performance, All the Things I Lost in the Flood, Anderson employs spoken word, video, live music and electronics to explore the power and perils of language and storytelling, dissecting the relationship between words and images, provoking questions about beauty, time, reality and memory.
