The title refers to Wilma’s interpretation of one of Stevie Wonder’s compositions ‘in a musical celebration of a better world, where equality, joy and harmony prevail.’As Wilma explains; “It sends out such a strong message which I have adopted after falling in love with the poetry and music in songs written by the likes of Marcos Valle, Johnny Mandel, Rodgers and Hart, Jerome Kern, Lesley Bricusse and Anthony Newley.”
The highly regarded Dutch vocalist’s rich, mellow tone, impeccable timing and elegant delivery pays obvious homage to her musical influences, Nancy Wilson, Julie London & Dianne Reeves. Wilma will be showcasing numbers from her well-received debut release, “So Nice” (Marcus Valle), as well as visiting some of her all-time favourites such as “Close Enough For Love” (Johnny Mandel) “The Summer Knows” (Michel Legrand), “I Didn’t Know What Time It Was” (Rodgers and Hart) and “The Folks Who Live On The Hill” (Jerome Kern) among others.
