Stephen Becker Ensemble at Art House Live

This is the second of many live sessions to come at our new Art House Live Space in West LA. Throughout the summer we will be playing host to many talented musicians and artists, and we continue it on Friday, June 29 with a night of jazz featuring Stephen Becker Ensemble. Before and after the show, Native Eloquence will be spinning a special jazz dj set just for you.

The Stephen Becker Ensemble will be performing multiple sets of his own compositions that explore and defy conventional music boundaries. The jazz “ideal” of energetic and driving improvisation permeates throughout Stephen’s music, though song structures draw from the historical spectrum of musical feel, including swing, funk, hip-hop, and rock. His songs have a flexibility that calls for liberating interaction above melodic themes and succinct yet harmonious grooves. The quintet comprised of local musicians takes the stage at Art House Live to share with you an eclectic set of original music paired with arrangements of popular jazz standards and covers.

Native Eloquence is the moniker of Adam Hirsch, a multi-instrumentalist, DJ, and music producer from Los Angeles, California. He currently plays saxophone and woodwinds in various bands, collaborates with Myles Emmons in the electronic duo Bear Pond, and composes, produces, and performs his own material under name Native Eloquence. Always a jazz musician and record collector at heart, Adam will be spinning two sets of his native music.
