Diakite is a native of the Wassoulou region of Mali who now lives in Madison. Diakite plays a Kamele Ngoni - a stringed, long-neck gourd instrument outfitted with an electronic pick-up made from old radio parts. His music is a mesmerizing mix of traditional melodies from Mali, blended with traditional American delta blues.
Atimevu Drum and Dance Ensemble is a Madison, WI-based group that performs the traditional music and dances of Ghana.
