Pepa Niebla at Teatro Monumental

On the 17th of April, at Teatro Monumental in Madrid, there will be a concert to present the new album of the Spanish jazz singer and composer Pepa Niebla. Under the title ¨Renaissance¨ this new album reveals herself as a composer and lyricist after her previous works published under El Pescador and EMI Spain. In this new work, Pepa Niebla begins a new stage, in which she begins to establish a cycle of creative and formative growth in which she discovers herself.
In this occasion, she will count on a young and international jazz rhythmic section of high voltage, the same that have accompanied her during the whole recording and development process. The music of Renaissance reflects an influence of the contemporary New York jazz in which Pepa Niebla tells us stories of love, family and society creating a sincere and personal work. The title of the album, Renaissance, is a tribute to life and the value of excellence. An invitation to walk towards who one truly is.
Niebla's writing and singing is influenced by singers such as Dianne Reeves, Lizz Wright, Nancy Wilson, Carmen McRae, Gretchen Parlato or Esperanza Spalding, and composers such as Benny Golson, Bill Evans, Wayne Shorter, Pat Metheny or Brian Blade & The Fellowship.
