Marion Rampal “is the new generation” and you know why? Because she represents the futurethe long-awaited destruction of the boundaries between male and female jazz. Once that's said,it's all about immersing yourself in her jazz, which is not only creative and innovative, but also opens the doorsto her influences such as Folk and Blues, for with her, nothing stands in the way. Marion recentlyrecently unveiled a beautiful cover of Bob Dylan's Don't think twice, it's alright, and will be performinga tribute to Claude Nougaro, another free jazzman. Marion Rampal also meansdiving into a dictionary of the world's languages and styles, be they Creole, Cajun, Berliner,French-speaking, OUPS! Marseillais too! Marion is a local girl, born in 1980 and steeped in thejazz scene with stage saxophonist Raphaël Imbert and Compagnie Nine Spirit. On July 13,the Palais Longchamp will vibrate to the sound of Marion Rampal, a 100% Jazz Marseillaise, and she's sure to enchantshe's sure to enchant the crowd and get them swinging!David Walters is back, inviting us on a new artistic voyage of his own.Having become inseparable from Creole culture, which he has been exploring and dissecting since his first solo albumAwa in 2006, he returns with Klé, his new anthem from Soul Tropical, his latest album.Recorded with his close guard, Vincent Segal, Ballaké Sissoko and Roger Raspail, Klé (clair inCreole) is a declaration of positivity with a strong gospel influence, a reference to God, andto God, with Creole choirs very much in evidence.On July 13, Marseilles will celebrate the return of Walters, his hometown, which hosted him for several yearswhich gave him the impetus to explore the West Indies and Africa musically. Fromhis positivity and desire to share will light up the night at the Palais Longchamp.Imagine that on July 13th our Good Mother of Marseille is renamed Catedral SanCristobal de La Habana, our Marseille cabs transformed into Ford convertibles and the gardens of thegardens of the Palais Longchamp become the Hotel Nacional! For this trick, MarseilleJazz invites Roberto Fonseca to plunge us into the incredible history of the “Cabane Cubaine”, one ofone of the most fashionable Parisian cabarets of the 1930s. Founded by Eduardo Castellanos, a Cuban musicianmusician in exile in France, this “Bohio Cubana” immersed the whole of Paris in the sounds of mambo, rumbaand bolero, and became a veritable phenomenon where Leopold Senghor, Buster Keaton,Cab Calloway, Rita Hayworth and Maurice Chevalier...For this Fiesta Cubana, come dressed in your best evening attire to sway and swayand immerse yourself in the immersive, festive journey that Roberto Fonseca has the secrets forto make us dance....
