Dannielle Gaha is simply an outstanding vocalist. A soulful artist with a beautiful sound, her voice has stretched into almost every niche of the entertainment world in a long and varied career.
Recording in London, Dannielle was the first Australian to break into the UK soul chart with the release of three singles Do It For Love, Stuck In the Middle and Secret Love, all which reached Top 10 and Top 50 in UK pop and dance charts, and which were sampled in the huge UK dance hit Wanna Spend the Night.
Whilst in London Dannielle featured on the Michael Ball Show, providing backing vocals for the likes of Joe Cocker, Tom Jones, Lulu and James Brown. Dannielle has also lent her voice to recordings for Sting, Kylie Minogue, Marcia Hines, Eran James, Guy Sebastian, Darren Percival, Glen Shorrock, Rozalla, Gerry DeVaux and The Pet Shop Boys ... and has performed live with Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Renee Geyer, Rick Price, Doug Parkinson and for Jason Donovans world tour.
The Hollywood films Mr Wonderful, Rough Diamonds and Doing Time For Patsy Cline also feature Dannielle's smooth vocals, and she is the voice behind the NSW Tourism's current international campaign, 'There's no place in the world like Sydney'.
As part of the Nissan Cedrics duo, Dannielle featured on Roy & HGs hit television show Club Buggery, including roles in the mini sit-coms Turps About The House and Star Search the Space Odyssey. Also recording the classic Cedrics album Going For A Song.
Dannielle reunited with John Farnham for his The Last Time tour, providing backing vocals and featuring in the duets Angels and Please Dont Ask Me to sell-out crowds around Australia, and again with the national concert tour of John Farnham and Tom Jones. Dannielle recently performed with John Farnham at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games which was broadcast to a worldwide audience of millions.
With an extensive vocal career, she seemingly had done it all ... until a series of jazz performances in an intimate Sydney venue inspired her to try something new, and ultimately to create the debut, You Don't Know Me, a stunning contemporary album of jazz classics recorded in tribute to her grandparents. Dannielle says a collection of jazz standards is something she could only contemplate after years spent honing her craft. "These are songs that I could not have done without having been through all the moments in my life and my career, she says.
Now based in LA, Dannielle has just released her latest work, a chilled contemporary album, Chocolate For Holly.
