ON Thursday DEC 5, JMQ Jazz Ensemble is delighted to present a special Double Bill, showcasing the exquisite jazz singers CLAIRE PATTI + ANASTASIA ASPELING, at Golden Gate Hotel, South Melbourne at 7pm. They shall appear with Tony Floyd (drums), Michael Harding (piano), Barney Loveland (d.bass) and John Montesante ( trumpet/flugel)
ANASTASIA is a wonderful Jazz artist with a captivating stage presence, and an extensive and versatile career. Born in South Africa and raised in Australia, Anastasia began her jazz journey in Melbourne, performing with top jazz ensembles and collaborating with leading musicians. Early in her career, she toured Europe and the USA in Khalari, an African folk opera and returning to Australia, she performed with John Montesante's soul outfit, while She contining to lead her own jazz groups around Melbourne, then moved to Sydney, where she expanded into blues and soul, touring internationally with prominent industry figures. Returning to Melbourne, Anastasia linked up again with band-leader John, appearing in both his jazz + soul ensembles....

CLAIRE is a gifted multi-instrumentalist and honours graduate:singer, performer, conductor, teacher and composer.
After graduating from the VCA majoring in horn, Claire pursued singing and playing the harp and developing her own sound in her arrangements and compositions.Her passion for singing and playing is closely followed by conducting choirs and ensembles, with a particular penchant for anything a cappella.
