SofĂa's third album De Tierra Y Oro has received two independent Music Awards in the World Beat category for Best Album and Best Song in 2013. Her latest album, El Gavilán, is a tribute to South American folklore icon Violeta Parra, recorded in duo with eclectic and adventurous guitarist Marc Ribot and with Violeta's grandson Angel Parra as a guest. SofĂa's work has featured on CNN, NPR's Tiny Desk, The New York Times and many more.
Her music has taken her all around the world to venues and festivals including Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Center, Blue Note, the Kennedy Center, Chicago World Music Festival, SFJazz, Montreal Jazz Festival, Weiner Konzerthaus (Vienna), Cité de la Musique (Paris), Festival Iberoamericano de las Artes de Puerto Rico, the Barbican (London), Jalisco Canta at Teatro Degollado (Guadalajara), Teatro Colsubsidio (Bogotá), Panama World Music, Festival Internacional del Cajon (Lima) and others.
She continues to set herself apart with a bold new vision in the global music scene.
