Celebrate International Jazz Day With Leesa Richards April 29 at Artscape Concert Series at Collins Park

Sunday, April 29, from 4-7 PM, FREE: Global Arts Project, Inc. and the Collins Park Neighborhood Association celebrate International Jazz Day in Collins Park, 2100 Collins Ave in Miami Beach. The concert features singer/songwriter Leesa Richards, a storyteller, a soulful voice offering a soundtrack to the narratives of life. Her sound taps into the deep roots of R&B, the poetry of jazz and folk and the energy of rock. Her debut solo album, Mother’s Child, is a rich blend of soulful ballads, rock and R&B, and showcases her gifts as a songwriter; it is a universal story of love and loss. She has performed with a slate of powerhouse artists including Faith Hill, The Bee Gees, Kelly Clarkson, Gloria Estefan, and Carole King, and recorded with Barbra Streisand and Lenny Kravitz, among other artists. On stage, she played the role of Mary Magdalene in the national tour of the Broadway musical, Jesus Christ Superstar, earning critical acclaim which led to featured performances throughout the US and Europe....
