Grammy award-winning trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis of the legendary Marsalis family is opening the FIU Music Festival for a New Orleans-Style Jazz party not to be missed!

He will join our very own FIU Faculty Jazz Quartet and FIU Jazz Big Band for a party like no other, featuring music from his latest album, Jazz Party. Jazz Party embodies the ebullient and cheerful characteristics of the New Orleans community.

Marsalis is “known for his technical excellence, inventive mind, and frequent touches of humor” (Los Angeles Times). He has toured internationally with jazz icons such as Ray Charles, Art Blakey, Max Roach, Elvin Jones, and Slide Hampton, as well as leading his own group.
