The Sunshine Jazz 36th Concert Season kicks off with the Real Deal - "Bluesman" Joey Gilmore! Joshua "Joey" Gilmore (born July 6, 1944), is a true American electric blues and soul blues singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Ocala, FL. Self-taught on the guitar at an early age, Gilmore relocated to South Florida in the '60s, and became a popular attraction which led to him accompanying many touring blues, R&B and soul musicians. He has shared the stage with none other than James Brown, Ms. Etta James, Bobby Bland, Little Milton and many others. Joey has recorded several albums, made the US Billboard R&B charts, toured and appeared at numerous blues, jazz and soul festivals including Montreux and Taiwan. Joey Gilmore was proudly inducted into "Alice Day's South Florida Jazz Hall of Fame" in 2017, and he continues to play that guitar like nobodies business!...
