Led by Michael Eckroth, the FIU Latin Jazz Ensemble presents a retrospective of Latin jazz styles of the past 50 years. The ensemble will visit different points in which jazz and big band harmonic and melodic sensibilities have been grafted onto folkloric Latin rhythms. The Miami New Times named the group the 'Best Latin Act" of 2020.
