Multi Grammy Award winning composer and trumpeter Terence Blanchard and Grammy Award winning trumpet guru and faculty member Brian Lynch perform two of Gil Evans’s and Miles Davis’s most admired suites, Porgy & Bess and Sketches of Spain. Originally recorded by Evans and Davis in 1958 and 1959, Blanchard and Lynch bring their own special artistry to these extraordinary classics, in collaboration with the Frost Concert Jazz Band, Frost Studio Jazz Band, and members of the Frost School’s Henry Mancini Institute. A landmark event that will be recorded for future album release!
