WHAT: Global Arts Project and the Collins Park Neighborhood Association present a FREE Livestream broadcast tribute to Tito Puente (1923-2000) on the 20th anniversary of his passing. The performance of some of his greatest hits will be by Tito Puente, Jr and His Latin Jazz Ensemble, with special guest vocalist Melina Almodovar. Hosts for the show will be Ray Breslin President of the Collins Park Neighborhood Association, and Dan Gelber, Mayor of Miami Beach.

Tito, Jr. is on a passionate mission. The younger Puente is determined to nurture the musical legacy left by his father. He refuses to let his father become a distant memory. “He was just too vibrant, too exciting. There was magic in the music my father made. It made people happy all over the world.”

He has found enthusiastic audiences who echo his passion. Crowds lured to a venue by the father are returning to see the son — and to once again participate in the high voltage celebration that takes place on stage.
