“An Afternoon of German Lieder” presented by the voice students of Professor Robert B. Dundas. The program will include art songs by such well-known composers as Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, and Mendelssohn, and feature the late-19th century composer Peter Gast.

Highly regarded for his solo songs during his lifetime, and described by Friedrich Nietzsche as “a new Mozart,” Gast’s reputation and legacy suffered during the political upheavals of the 20th century. This program will represent the US premieres of several of his songs.
