About

Adam Rossmiller is a freelance trumpeter currently residing in Minneapolis, MN. He is an active performer and educator in both the classical and jazz idioms around the Twin Cities area. Notably, he has worked with The Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, The Air Force Notables, JazzMN, The Hornheads, Pete Whitman’s X-tet, The Summit Hill Brass Quintet, and The Bach Society of MN. Adam is a regular substitute in the Twin Cities vibrant theatre scene. Productions include, A Year with Frog and Toad at the Children’s Theatre Company, winner of a 2003 Regional Tony Award, Grease at the Pantages Theatre, and 42nd Street at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre, the nation’s largest professional dinner theatre. He has also had the opportunity to perform professionally with Wayne Bergeron, Rob McConnell, Bill Holman, Byron Stripling, Dennis Diblasio, Tom Peterson, Phil Hey, and Manny Laureano. In 2005, Adam helped to found Snowblind, an original jazz quintet. Snowblind has recorded two CD’s, performs regularly at the Dakota jazz club, and is involved in jazz education giving clinics and performances in Minnesota schools. He is also an original member of G8, a hip-hop group that has one CD, Run With It, to its credit and performs at a variety of venues in the Twin Cities. Currently, Adam is teaching the trumpet studio, jazz ensembles, and an arranging course at Gustavus Adolphus College as a sabbatical replacement. He also was the interim director of jazz band at St. Cloud State University during the ’04-’05 school year, has been a teaching assistant in trumpet, jazz ensembles, and jazz theory at the University of Minnesota, and continues to maintain a private studio. Adam earned a D.M.A. and M.M. from the University of Minnesota as well as a B.M. in jazz studies from the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver. Adam has had the opportunity to study with some of world’s finest trumpeters and all around musicians, including David Baldwin, Alan Hood, Gary Bordner, Ron Miles, Joseph Docksey, Malcolm Lynn Baker, David Hanson, Eric Gunnison, and Manny Laureano....
