Eric Wangensteen at Jazz Central Studios

Eric graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance. A ‘first call’ trumpet for many international, national, and local acts, he has performed world-wide and recorded extensively with the top players in Los Angeles. From 2003-2005, Eric toured with Bette Midler as her lead trumpet player on her three #1 “Kiss My Brass” tours to nearly a million fans. He appeared on The Tonight Show, the Ellen Degeneres Show, A&E Biography, and has appeared in the Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly magazines.

Eric has recorded four solo CD’s which have had airplay in over 20 Countries. These days Eric plays mainly with Belladiva in Minneapolis (13 years running) during the summer, and spends winters in Uruguay, South America performing nightly… recently for three years with Paquito D’Rivera at their International Jazz Festival....

In addition to his successful music career, Eric enjoys a second career as a commercial pilot for Delta Airlines, flying internationally, …but that’s another story!
